EL CAJON - August 27, 2012 - Shortly after 5:30pm, officers in El Cajon attempted to stop a PAL (Parolee At Large) in El Cajon near W Washington Ave and Van Houten Ave when he took off and ran in to a home a short distance away. Officers set up a perimeter and called out the occupants of the home, who say they know the man but were still very upset and frightened that he came running in to their home with officers on his tail. The occupants fled the home and officers started doing callouts to the suspect, whom the occupants said was hiding in the attic. The man, identified as Terry Woods, refused to come out. Officers deployed a K9 which bit the man in the leg. An ambulance was called and the suspect was transported to a nearby hospital. The woman in the blue sweater can be heard yelling and cussing the man out, who was visibly shaken over the break-in. Officers found a knife in some grass nearby, and the suspect may have had a gun, but that's unconfirmed. No SOT was available, but I did speak with a sergeant off camera.
